At the moment, there are two major initiatives in progress for temples in Ashram. First is the Shree Rama Paduka Temple resulting from a series of events leading to appearance of Lord Rama at the Houston Ashram during the monthly Havan of 15 December 2024. Revered Sree L. S. Venkatesn, an ardent devotee of Kanchi Paramacharya Sree Jagadguru Shri Chandrasekharendra Saraswati Shankaracharya Mahaswamigal (20 May 1894 – 8 January 1994), also known as Kamakshi Balan had witnessed Lord Ram’s presence and communicated the advise from the Lord that a Paduka be arranged and taken around the world to be installed after 14 months with 108 Salagrama’s surrounding it. More details on Paduka can be seen at www.srdmh.org/paduka
Second major initiative, also associated with the Paduka Temple is the Kula Devatha Temple. Given that most of the community has lost touch with their respective Kula Devatha Temples, which is the primary source of protection for the Kula (family tree), our community is continually suffering from material, physical, financial and other ailments. There is provision for One Thousand such temples, where 1000 families can invoke their respective Kula Devatha’s and worship locally with in the United States.
