DESCRIPTION:Maha chandika homam under the auspices of Bharatheeya Dharma Prachara Sabha and led by world renowned psychologist Dr. Sreenath Karayatt and our patron Sree Sakti Saanthananda Maharshi will be conducted at the Ashram site on March 8th and 9th\, 2025. All trained and initiated devotees can do the homa as yajniks. Training to start in October 2024. \nThis is the second time such an event is being organized in the United States by the Ashram\, where several hundred people together will chant and offer havan (Homam) under the guidance of able and world-renowned spiritual leaders like Sree Sakti Saanthaananda Maharshi and Dr. Sreenath Karayatt\, acharya of Bharateeya Dharma Prachara Sabha. \nThis very elaborate function starts with Sree Mahalakshmi yagam on Friday\, March 7th morning\, Chandika parayanam\, Bali pooja\, various offerings and ending in Suvasinee pooja on Sunday evening. This is a very unique opportunity to get absolutely immersed in the highest form of ritual worship. All required materials will be provided onsite for the yaga. Bali pooja is a unique offering of lighting small 64 torches for yogini devathas and their respected Bhairavas. Events on Sunday start with various homams (Havan) – starting with Ganapathy Homam and concluding with Chandika Homam. After noon has Kanyaka Pooja\, Vatuka Pooja and Suvasinee pooja. Kanyaka Pooja is actually Nava Kanya pooja where groups of 9 young girls are worshiped as Nava Kanyas by the Acharyas. Similarly Vatuka pooja is recognizing young boys as child forms of lord Siva. Starting the very first mantra as Sree Matre Namah – worshiping the mother\, the thousand hymns end with Sree Lalithambikaye namah – respecting all aspects of Devi in between. \nAshram will be conducting 100 rounds of Lalitha Sahasranama homam (havan) on second sunday of each month across 2022. Homam is the highest form of ritualistic worship as prescribed in Hindu traditions. Fifth round of Havans will be conducted on 15 May\, 2022 starting at 9:00 AM at Ashram site – 17119 McLean Rd\, Pearland\, TX 77584\, right across Meenakshi Temple in Pearland\, TX (Houston). \nYou are invited to attend the next and fifth all day Lalitha Sahasranama homam at the Ashram site on next Sunday – 15th May 2022. This day is also Vaishakha Poornima! \nThe Hindu month of Vaishakh is regarded as one of the most fortunate months to perform fast\, donation\, Homa\, and other religiously relevant and significant things. The Purnima that falls in the month of Vaishakh is celebrated as Vaishakh Purnima. Devotees worship and offer prayers to Lord Vishnu on the day of Vaishakh Purnima with utmost dedication and faith. \nSkanda Purana is one of the most religious Hindu scriptures which highlight the importance of this day. It is believed that devotees get blessed with abundance\, rewards\, and peace by worshipping Lord Vishnu on this particular day. By observing a fast of Vaishakh Purnima\, the devotees can attain prosperity. The day also holds immense significance as on this particular day people also celebrate Buddha Jayanti. \nAs per Buddhist texts\, Lord Buddha was born in 563 BCE in Lumbini\, Nepal on the day of Vesak. Also\, it was the day of Vesak when Buddha attained enlightenment under Bodhi tree in BodhiGaya. On the same Vesak day\, Lord Buddha left for abode in the eighteenth year of age. \nHomam will start at 9:00 AM with Ganapathy homma(Havan)\, Hanuman Homam Vishnu Sahasranama Homam and then up to 11 rounds of Lalitha Sahasranma Homams\, to e finished by 3:30 PM or so – well in advance of the lunar eclispe. \nWe will continue the efforts of Krishi pooja and Nakshatra Vana (star forest) during this weekend as well. Krishi Pooja is a divine concept introduced by Jagathguru Swami Sathyananda Saraswathy Thiruvadikal even on this weekend. Food is the basic requirement for sustaining any life form – including human life. Hence the concept of farming to produce food itself is one of the most basic and respectable forms of worship. Hence this concept of Krishi pooja. Devotees will be planting seeds / plants of herbs and vegetables. \nAshram will continue planting trees of astrological significance for nakshatra vana. Nakshatra vana or star forest is a concept where an individual plants respective plant / tree corresponding to their birth stars. Scriptures advise that nurturing your own plant will protect your body. Southern boundary will have three plants for each star (nakshatra). Eastern and northern boundaries will have Fruits and special plants / trees like Rudraksh\, Camphor\, Chandan (Sandal wood) etc. Diagram below will give an overall view. Starting the very first mantra as Sree Matre Namah – worshiping the mother\, the thousand hymns end with Sree Lalithambikaye namah – respecting all aspects of Devi in between. \nAshram will be conducting 100 rounds of Lalitha Sahasranama homam (havan) on second sunday of each month across 2022. Homam is the highest form of ritualistic worship as prescribed in Hindu traditions. Second round of Havans will be conducted on 13 February\, 2022 starting at 9:00 AM at Ashram site – 17119 McLean Rd\, Pearland\, TX 77584\, right across Meenakshi Temple in Pearland\, TX (Houston). \nIf you wish to sponsor for a round of Homam\, cost is $125.00. Please use the donate button on top left of the home page to make the payment. Entire day’s homam is $1000.00\, . We also request you to enter the information for Sankalpa\, at least two days before the homam date at  https://forms.gle/8XbZqjHBeNusMKyP8  \nAll devotees desiring to participate in the homam as yajniks will be provided appropriate training by the volunteers and be able to make the offerings directly after necessary familiarization of the rituals. If you prefer mantra booklet in any specific language\, please send a request to info@srdmh.org with details (which language\, how many copies etc.) \nEach round of Homam (Havan) will take slightly more than an hour. There will be small breaks after each round. Yajniks (those who are doing the homam) are not allowed to leave in between the homam. You don’t have to be a sponsor to attend the homam. In fact there is no fee or expectations to participate.

DESCRIPTION:Lalitha Sahasra Nama also called as Rahasya Sahasranama is one of the most revered methods of worshiping universal mother Goddess. Starting the very first mantra as Sree Matre Namah – worshiping the mother\, the thousand hymns end with Sree Lalithambikaye namah – worshiping all aspects of Devi in between. \nAshram will be conducting 100 rounds of Lalitha Sahasranama homam (havan) on second sunday of each month across 2022. Homam is the highest form of ritualistic worship as prescribed in Hindu traditions. Anticipating eight to nine rounds on each Sunday\, the very first sequence will be started by His Holiness Swami Sreesakti Saanthananda Maharshi\, who is the patron of the Ashram as well Swami Sathyananda Saraswathy Foundation. Maharshiji has traveled from India. \nAll devotees desiring to participate in the homam will be provided appropriate training by the volunteers and be able to make the offerings directly after necessary familiarization of the rituals. \nEach round of Homam (Havan) will take more than an hour. There will be small breaks after each round. Yajniks (those who are doing the homam) are not allowed to leave in between the homam.
