DESCRIPTION:You are invited to attend the next and tenth homam at the Ashram site on Sunday – 9th October 2022. \nWe have completed our original target of 100 rounds of Lalitha Sahasranama homams’ which was to be completed by December with the support all of you\, including many blessed souls who attended from many parts of the world through the online facility. \nBy the time next homam starts\, Digvijay Rama Rajya Rath Yatra initiated by our patron Sree Swami Shakti Santhananda Maharshi would have started its journey from Ayodhya on Vijaya Dashami day of Oct 5\, 2022 and reached Janakpur in current Nepal\, the birth place of Sita Devi. Please watch the Face book page for live updates and more information on this historic yatra. \nAs a tribute and support to this present day Ashwamedha yagya\, and to ensure smooth and successful completion of the yatra\, we will be conducting a Chandika Homam on Sunday\, October 9th. This will be conducted under the auspices of Sree Manimalarkavilamma\, little known but very power saint and an ardent devotee of Poojya gurudev Jagathguru Swami Sathyananda Saraswathy Thiruvadikal\, who has been the guiding light of all the homam’s so far. Amma is based out of her humble abode at Thalassery. \nIt our responsibility as a community to support such a noble effort by our saints. The volunteers of Houston Ashram is making an exception to that behavior by supporting this Maha Yaaga of Ratha yatra with “than-man-dhan”\, by physically participating\, mentally supporting through prayers and financially supporting to the best of our abilities. This Homa is thus an integral part of that effort with people all over the world praying together to Mother Chandika\, the slayer of all demons and the protector of the innocents\, through doing Devi Mahatmyam homam. Homam will be conducted by offering various auspicious items called Homa dravya by reading every line of Devi Mahatmyam\, also called Saptashati. online version of the same can be seen at https://sanskritdocuments.org/doc_devii/durga700.pdf \nHomam preparations will start at 9:00 AM with Ganapathy Homam (Havan)\, Hanuman Homam\, and then Chandika Homam. It is expected to take about five hours to complete. \nThere will be a time slot for doing sankalpam for all the participants to participate on the Homam even while attending on Zoom.
